Current Therapy in Obstetrics and Gynecology

The 5th Edition of Current Therapies in Obstetrics and Gynecology is a popular collection of short articles summarizing clinical therapy on specific topics in obstetrics and gynecology. This edition presents new chapters on such topics as pediatric gynecology, chronic pelvic exams, genital prolapse, septic shock, sexual abuse and rape, AIDS and HIV, fetal infections, and several additional primary care topics. Contributors represent the leading clinicians in the field. Topics in obstetrics and gynecology are covered in this book; this includes primary care problems often seen by obstetrician/gynecologists. This is an overview of a variety of obstetrics and gynecology disorders and topics. Dramatic improvements in the field have occurred since the fourth edition was published in 1994. It is intended for physicians, nurses, and medical students and is useful to any provider practicing obstetrics and gynecology. There are over 160 contributors to this text, which is edited by two professors-emeritus obstetricians and gynecologists. Rather extensive topics in gynecology, gynecologic oncology, and obstetrics are covered, including perinatology. Advancements within the field are discussed, and contributors offer succinct discussions of topics with pertinent and practical information. There are very few illustrations, but an occasional table or figure supplements the text. For readers looking for a quick, reliable, to-the-point discussion on pertinent topics in obstetrics and gynecology, this book meets that need. It is clear that with rapid advancements in the field, a new edition is fully justified. EDWARD J.
