This book/CD-ROM package for practicing otolaryngologists focuses on principles and applications of computer-aided surgery in clinical otorhinolaryngology and head and neck surgery. Chapters cover optical and electromagnetic tracking for surgical navigation, intraoperative magnetic resonance imaging, Internet-enabled surgery, and virtual reality and surgical simulation. Other topics include image-guided functional endoscopic sinus surgery, computer-aided facial plastic surgery, and future directions. The CD-ROM contains digital copies of figures from the text. The images are in JPG format and can be seen using an image viewer on a PC. There are also four videos on the CD- ROM in AVI format, which may be viewed with a media viewer such as Windows Media Player 6 or greater. Citardi is a staff member in the Department of Otolaryngology and Communicative Disorders at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
