Clinician's Manual of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Kwon, Paul H., DDS, PhD(Marquette Univ); Laskin, Daniel M., DDS, MS(Medical Coll of Virginia)The contributors represent the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery. All are from U.S. universities and dental schools, including Univ of Michigan, Virginia Commonwealth Univ, and Medical Coll of Wisconsin. This is the second edition of a quick reference manual for the oral and maxillofacial surgeon. The purpose of this text is to provide the oral surgery practitioner and resident with a convenient and concise reference manual. The primary audience is the oral and maxillofacial surgeon and resident in training. The primary unique feature of this text is the vast amount of material placed into a small text. The references and illustrations are very limited. The illustrations could have been better. This is a good reference text for the oral and maxillofacial surgeon and a very handy pocket reference for the oral and maxillofacial surgery resident. This reference for surgeons and residents consists of 24 contributions that review such procedures as diagnostic imaging, managing medical emergencies, suturing, anesthesia, differential diagnosis of cysts and tumors, and postoperative care. The third edition updates new drugs available and AMA algorithms for cardiac life support, and adds a chapter on dental implants. Spiral binding.
