Monoclonal Gammapathies and the Kidney

Twenty papers from a meeting recently held in France present new developments in understanding and treating kidney diseases caused by monoclonal immunoglobin (MoIg) deposits in the kidney tissue. The researchers investigate myeloma cast nephropathy, Fanconi's syndrome, and immunoglobic amyloidosis, focusing on either plasma cell dysrasias, the tubule, or the glomerulus. Topics include the physiopathology of malignant B cell lymphoproliferations, receptor- mediated uptake of light chains in the kidney proxial tubule, ultrastructural pattern and classification of renal MoIg deposits, and the differences between fibrillar and microtubular deposits in glomerulonephritis. No index is provided.
